Searching for information - Introduction to module 2:
Once you know what information you want, and where to get it from, you are ready to start the actual searching. There's more to this than meets the eye though, and the process of searching can be made easier if you understand how to approach it
This module will guide you through the core processes of searching for information. It will illustrate simple techniques to help you with literature searching, and show you how to search selected resources through a series of step-by-step, interactive tutorials.
This module will take approximately 25 minutes to complete.

Learning these can make you more effective at finding the information you need from the resources that you search. By the end of the module, you should be able to:

| How to carry out effective searches, choosing appropriate techniques for finding information (including the use of search commands such as AND/OR/NOT), and making use of specific database tools where they exist. You will have an understanding of how to adapt your search strategy (as necessary), in order to produce the results required. |
